About Munktells

From industrial legacy to innovation catalyst

Munktells is a hub for solution innovation and transformation in Eskilstuna. We create a vibrant meeting place where industry experts, academia, students, and community members collaborate across boundaries to solve the challenges of tomorrow. Our goal is simple but ambitious: to accelerate innovation by bringing together different perspectives. When engineers meet students, when startups connect with established companies, when theoretical knowledge meets practical experience, transformative ideas emerge.

We are designed as an open, collaborative environment that welcomes partners from different industries, academia, and society. Our name honors Eskilstuna’s rich industrial heritage and the story of Munktells, which laid the foundation for today’s Volvo CE. Located in the former Munktell Science Park and connected to the Munktell Museum, we build a bridge between a proud history of innovation and future opportunities.

Our connection to the Volvo Construction Equipment Innovation Center

Within the walls of Munktells, Volvo CE has built an Innovation Center focused on transforming the industry through cross-functional collaboration and cooperation with external partners. It is an extension of our facility in Brunnsta/Hällby and is designed for project work such as agile ways of working, creative meetings and workshops, co-location, as well as meetings and conferences with external stakeholders.
